D. Lee Howell, Jr., MD

Dr. Howell has significant experience dealing with complex anorectal issues and is proficient in multiple outpatient operative techniques used to treat these conditions. He is trained in laparoscopy and minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of intra- abdominal conditions. In addition, he is skilled in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.

He is an active member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons along with the Texas Medical Association and the Harris County Medical Society. He firmly believes that the best medicine results when patients thoroughly understand the cause of their ailments and what it takes to alleviate their suffering. He prides himself on his ability to explain the conditions he diagnoses in the simplest way possible, regardless of how long it takes. “If you don’t understand what you have, I haven’t done my job.”

Dr. Howell resides in Houston with his family and enjoys biking around our fine city. He is involved in his children’s sports activities and is an avid amateur barbecue chef. He prefers to spend his free time outdoors but has been known to watch sporting events indoors on occasion.
